The Fortnite Doomsday Event and In-game Countdown

If you have been playing the Fortnite Storm: The Agency Challenges, you might have heard of some news brewing around The Agency about FortniteINC and Doomsday Event and pondered when the said event would start. The Doomsday Event could either be something good or something bad, depending on the player’s perspective. Regardless, what all the Fortnite players have in common is feeling curious and expectant of what’s to come and what Epic Games plans to do for the season finale.

With Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 coming to an end, there have been talks about a Doomsday event that not only will be the extravagant end of the current season but will also pave the way to the launching of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3. Despite no official announcement being made by Epic Games, data miners came to the conclusion that an event such as the Doomsday Event is most likely to occur because of the leaks they have discovered from game files and Twitter posts. The countdown clock has not officially appeared in the game, however, but it was safe to assume that the players up for a big show since the season are drawing to a close.

Based on Epic Games track record for finale moments on Fortnite, the Doomsday event could surprise the players to what they have in store including the minor changes to the island. In addition, said the event could also tie into the season’s theme of spy and supervillain. That said, the Doomsday Event is most likely to happen.

When is the Fortnite Doomsday Event?

Several countdown timers began to appear in the game lately. According to some, the countdown timer only appeared after the version 12.60 update. Players found said timers on the desk in Midas’ chamber under the Agents menu. In the same room, players also found something in the windows when the curtains opened which they thought are related to the event’s countdown. Another thing the players discovered is that the clock suddenly goes missing before the event starts.

One Fortnite data miner called Spedicey1 got the countdown timer to appear in the game and posted an image on their twitter account. However, the timer indicated was wrong. Nevertheless, it gave the players an idea of how the countdown clock will appear once it is officially part of the game. Another Fortnite data miner by the name of Hypex was the one that discovered that doomsday devices in Midas’ headquarters but it is not clear whether or not the location of the countdown clock will change and appear somewhere else.

It is believed that the commencement of the Fortnite Doomsday Event is linked to these countdown timers. It is said that the countdown will reach zero sometime around 11 am PST / 2 pm EST / 7 pm BST on Saturday, 6th of June. If you don’t want to miss the event, be sure to log in to Fortnite beforehand and pay attention to The Agency. You might be up for a surprise.
